Leadership in Couples Therapy and Coaching

I'm Dr. Chris, a couples therapist, coach, and expert in leading couples through recovery from the devastation of affairs. I specialize exclusively in this challenging but deeply rewarding work. Welcome to the new online home of my practice, Revive the Bond.

Before becoming a therapist and coach I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an officer in the 82nd Airborne Division. During those tough years I learned what it means to be a leader who knows his craft, accomplishes difficult tasks, and takes responsibility for outcomes. I also experienced rich lessons in falling short, loss, heartbreak, and -- fortunately -- growth after such painful experiences.

Today, my practice focuses entirely on the complex work of affair recovery, where I work hard alongside couples to achieve healing and reconciliation.

I began my professional journey as a therapist and coach by earning a master's degree in 2007 and becoming a generalist psychotherapist. I worked with a variety of populations, including inpatient psychiatry patients, teens, groups, and families. My desire for more training and a deeper understanding of how psychotherapy works motivated me to pursue a PhD. I completed doctoral studies in Marriage and Family Therapy at Michigan State University, where I received world-class academic and clinical training.

I chose to sub-specialize in affair recovery work early in my career, drawn by the formidable challenges this unique work offers. Affair recovery work is often fast-paced, dynamic, and unforgiving of mistakes. After jumping out of airplanes in the middle of the night in the 82nd Airborne Division, perhaps I needed just a little more adrenaline to keep me working at my best. Today, affair recovery is all I can imagine doing.

I am also a proponent of excellence in clinical work. I study my craft extensively, use the latest treatment models and theories, attend trainings, consult with colleagues (PhD and MD), and work to continuously improve what I offer.

In 2024 I decided to expand my services to offer online affair recovery in order to reach couples out of state who are unable to meet with me in person. This website is the new home of that initiative. Let's get to work and begin reviving your bond!
